Last week, the Topsail Pirates football team hosted a 3 day youth camp at Topsail High School that started Monday, July 29th, and lasted until Wednesday, July 31st. This is the 5th year that Topsail has hosted this camp, and it includes children that are as young as 6 years old. Campers had the opportunity to work with the entire coaching staff, and learn what it’s like to be a part of a high school football team.
Coach Inman, the head coach of the Topsail Pirates and organizer of the 2019 Topsail youth football camp, said this when asked about what he enjoys the most about the camp. “I think [the camp] opens up our facilities and our coaching staff to the community and to these young kids so they can see what we do here, and be a part of a high school program.”
The Pirates officially kick off their season on August 23rd, when they face their rival school, Heide Trask, in Rocky Point.
