Topsail High School Senior .. Cora Mabrey…High School Spotlight Athlete

In the world of youth, middle and high school sports,  no one athlete alone will be responsible for a teams success on the field or court. It is a team of  athletes and their commitment as individuals to put in the work to help their team be successful. It is very challenging for high school student athletes to find the proper balance of academics and sports on and off the field. Topsail Senior Cora Mabrey, a four year varsity cheerleader found that balance in one of the most demanding sports as a athlete. Cheerleaders are some of the most athletic students at the school.  Cora had the commitment  and work ethic in the classroom and on the field or court as a student athlete.

Cora Mabrey a four year member of the Topsail Lady Pirate Cheerleading Team. Mabrey a team player is proud of her teams success. The Lady Pirates this years Mideastern 3A/4A Conference Cheerleading Champion, 2019 NCHSAA 3A State Champions. The Lady Pirates also competed in the Team National Championships at Disney World in Florida.

Mabrey  also had many individual accomplishments as a cheerleader for the Lady Pirates. Three time All-American…Two time Individual National Champion and Three time All American Camp honors….. Selected to the Mideastern 3A/4A All Conference Team. Cora also cheered 5 years with the Cheer Infinity Allstar Team.

Cora Mabrey also excelled as a student. A four year Scholar Athlete. National Honor Society Inductee.  The Covid- 19 situation has delayed her college decision. Mabrey has narrowed her decision to one of the schools. NC State University, University of South Florida or University of Central Florida. Cora will make her decision after tryouts with each schools cheerleading teams.

For now,  Mabrey is working hard to finish her senior year strong academically and make her college decision.  Cora has Great “Work Ethic” and  “Commitment “ She will be successful  as a “College Student Athlete” and “Life”   Congrats!!
