Our youth get their start in sports at a very young age, some as early as five years old. Yes, in the early years it is to introduce them to the basics of the sport and most of all, have fun. As the kids move up through the age groups, they either move on and try something different or many begin to find a love of the sport or sports they are involved in. As the kids reach middle school age, some begin that journey and dream of playing high school and college sports.
Topsail Middle School.. Sixth Grader.. Kellan Coleman has reached that middle school age. Coleman got started in basketball in elementary school with the Topsail Basketball Association in Hampstead. Kellan also participated in the Halo Youth Basketball League. Coleman, sixth grade, is a member of the Topsail Middle School Basketball team.
Kellan at the age of six started playing 8U travel baseball with Rock Solid Baseball. After several years with Rock Solid, Coleman had one season with Southeast Titan Baseball. Kellan began with his current team 11U Dirtbags Black out of Princeton NC
The 12U Dirtbags Black team are heading to Houston Texas for a National Perfect Game Tournament March 5-7. The 12U Dirtbags are currently ranked number 10 in the nation for Perfect Game and number 2 in the region.
Coleman enjoys the challenges of playing multiple sports. With the Middle School Basketball season nearing end, Kellan has a busy couple of weeks ahead. His brother, Senior Brycen Coleman Topsail Varsity Baseball (Brunswick Community College Baseball Commit) is beginning his senior season with Pirate Baseball. Yes, A be a busy couple weeks for the Coleman family.
