The Winter Athletic High School Season gets underway this week. With talented and experienced returning along with some talented freshman wrestlers the Topsail Pirate wrestling team has very high hopes for the upcoming season.

Thursday November 21st 6pm marks the beginning of THS wrestling season opener. THS wrestling team is being lead by returning state placer Ben Baker and a host of upperclassmen such as Tyler Allison, Tristan Allison, Kevin Guthrie, Ethan Parker, Alex Jones, Bernie Burns, Danny Arredondo, Will Vesallo and Connor Kingsley to name just a few. They will be facing the very competitive and always game Dixon HS. Along with the upper classmen are the young guns like Sophmores Lucas Cotto, Jake Mackleer, Freshman Ethan Blevins and Alex Hopper all wanting to prove they belong atop of the podium.

The official Varsity starting roster will be posted the night prior to the event after wrestle offs are completed for the week and may not include all names listed above. Topsail is poised to make a run this season and show once again that THS is a wrestling powerhouse. For the first time ever THS will be hosting all home matchups under their new mat light. Bring your glo sticks, bring your costumes and most importantly bring your support November 21st to the THS Gymnasium at 6pm. If you haven’t experienced wrestling in this kind of environment than you haven’t experienced wrestling.
