Area teams, Trask, Topsail, Pender and Dixon football closed out the year with much success to build on for next fall and the 2023 season. The Trask Titans 8-4 Overall and 4-1 Waccamaw 1A/2A Conference advanced to the second round of the NCHSAA 2A State Playoffs. The Pender Patriots, also of the Waccamaw Conference, advanced to the second round of the 1A State Playoffs. Topsail competed in the Mideastern 3A/4A Conference. The Pirates advanced to the First Round of the 4A State Playoffs. The Dixon Bulldogs compete in the Coastal 3A Conference.
First year Trask head coach, Lawrence Ches led the Titan program to an impressive turn around season and a 8-4 record and advancing to the second round of the 2A State playoffs.
