Youth Spotlight “Athlete of Week” Jensen Moore

Topsail Elementary 4^th Grader Jensen Moore – Active in Youth Sports – Has Passion for Football and The Experience of Being a Part of the “Boys of Fall”

Kids participating in youth sports has been around for a long time. With that said, the trend is growing at a rapid pace. Our youth have many more options than years ago. Years ago, about the only sports young kids participated in during the summer months was baseball and softball. Today with the growth of Lacrosse, Soccer, Volleyball, Basketball, Wrestling, Cheer Teams and Gymnastics. Include travel teams and team and individual competition, gives young kids many choices during the summer months.

Topsail Elementary fourth grader Jensen Moore began his youth sports experience at age 5 with the Topsail Jr Pirate youth football program. Moore now completes in the Topsail Basketball Association youth league, as well as the NFL Youth Flag Football program.

In the winter months you will find Jensen on the basketball court playing with the Topsail Basketball Association, where he has been competing for the past 3 years. In the spring Moore competes in the NFL Youth Flag Football League.

Jensen enjoys competing in youth sports, with that said it is never too early for a youth athletic to find dreams, goals and passions. Moore has a true passion for football and carrying the title as one of the “Boys of Fall” (Phrase quoted for all football players in the fall season).

Moore has been playing with the Topsail Junior Pirates beginning at age 5 in in the Tiny Mite division. This current season, Jensen is playing with the 10U Topsail Junior Pirates team. On the offense Jensen is the starting quarterback. On the defensive side of the ball, he plays as a Free Safety and as a Linebacker. Jensen’s goal for this season of helping his team advance to the Pop Warner National Championship at Disney World in Florida.

Jensen also does well in school as a A-B Honor Roll Student at Topsail Elementary.
